Owyhee Fall Festival 2012
Last night after a fun but exhausting day at Boo @ the Zoo we headed back to Nampa to catch the end of the Owyhee Fall Festival. Spencer worked the fishing booth while Jayden played some games and danced to the music. The highlight for me was when Jayden did the fishing booth. Spencer said, "It's my little sis, give her something good." She was so excited when her fishing turn gave her two toys instead of one. What an awesome big brother.

Boise Boo @ the Zoo 2012
We had a blast at the zoo today. Spencer was a rotting Zombie and Jayden was a princess Super Girl; both of them looked awesome. We were bummed that Daddy couldn't join us but we met the Gismondi crew and bumped into the Youngers so it was fun.
Jayden's highlight was talking to the princesses, the tigers, and going by the monkey house. Spencer loved the reptiles and tigers. We've decided that a family day at the zoo will be a part of our spring. It will be nice to wander the zoo with no rain.

Warmth
We had to get new stocking caps for the kiddos this year and I found some at Target tonight. We came home after a Red Robin dinner (note the marinara staining Jayden's nose) to a freezing house and both kiddos couldn't wait to try out their new caps. Apparently the are super toasty and the are definitely cute. Fall attire makes me smile; bring on the scarfs.

The Pleasure of Picking Pretty Pumpkins in a Pumpkin Patch
Today we went to The Berry Ranch with the Gismondi's to pick out our pumpkins. It was so much fun, a first for Jayden. She was super excited to pick out a pumpkin and Spence was pretty thrilled too. To make it even better, it was Steen's night off so he joined in on all the fun.
We're going to carve/paint our pumpkins next week, just in time for the to grace our porch for Halloween. Fall totally rocks!

Monday Nights
Daddy made spaghetti, Spencer worked his way through his spelling homework, I graded papers, and then we all watched Jayden shove food in her mouth. You gotta love family nights.

Sunday Morning Treat
This morning I decided to use our pumpkin strudel bread to make bread pudding. I found this post: http://www.thekitchn.com/basic-recipes-how-to-make-swee-137763 and altered it a bit but it smells super yummy as it cooks.
I added some golden raisins, chocolate chips, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg. I also mixed up bran, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, and cloves for a topping.
There is just something wonderful about baking with my kiddos in the fall. It makes everything a little bit better, always has, always will.

Saturday Scrub
Once upon a time I spent every Saturday morning scrubbing my house until it was sparkly clean. I haven't been doing that lately and the little bambino in my tummy just isn't cutting it as an excuse anymore. Today we started the tradition again and due to the long break it has been intensive scrubbing the floor like Cinderella type cleaning. Happily I have two little helpers and am looking forward to a sparkling house.

Hubby Love
I'm a lucky woman. My husband is an amazing man. He has sacrificed so many things for our family. He supported me finishing my Bachelor of Arts and moving on to get my Masters. He adores our two children and our princess of a pooch. He also works in a juvenile corrections program that helps kids move forward and have a better life. On top of all of this he is honest, straight forward, and sexy as all get out. Like I said, I'm a lucky woman. I love you Bubs!

A Spector of Great Delight!
Leslie brought me this adorable treat today. It was an awesome way to start my morning; it's just so darn cute. But then, I sort of expect adorable creations from such a crafty creature. (woohoo for alliteration)

Missed Moment
I missed the debates tonight and while I'm bummed that I missed the second 2012 Presidential Debate, it was worth it to snuggle with my baby girl. I got a call at around 2:15 pm from the daycare to let me know Jayden was sick. We headed to the pediatricians and headed home with a prescription for ear drops and antibiotics. It's just a mom thing, snuggling with a sick kiddo takes precedence over evening plans. Besides, who can resist a face like this?

Buddy Walk 2012: Team Asher
This was the first year that Steen got to join us for Buddy Walk. It was so much fun. I'd love to write a beautiful reflection of the day's events, and I may add it later, but for now I'll let the pictures tell the story.

Panda Express Fundraiser
We had dinner at PE for Spencer's school fundraiser. It was fun to have all of us together for dinner; the down side is that little Adeline hasn't let me keep down Chinese food for the entire pregnancy. Picky baby strikes again, oh well.

Princess Jayden
One of Jayden's new phrases is, "I'm a princess." I know that at some point in the future this phrase and the attitude and sense of entitlement that goes along with it may haunt Steen and I but for today it is just one more fun and adorable aspect of having a little girl.
